Feb 3-6
Last week students reviewed their rubrics in order to write a skit on Early Colonial times following the American revolution (see below).
Groups have been assigned.
They began researching by reading magazines, text books, picture books, and online sources to understand how events like the signing of Treaty of Paris, Stamp Act, the Boston Tea Party, and other historical events affected what side the Native Americans, British, and French took for the American Revolution.
The script is due by Friday, FEb 10th. We will rehearse next week with performances on Friday, Feb 17th. (students only)
I will record these presentations and post them for viewing
The Revolutionary War from All Sides
The year is 1776. News is spreading quickly that a Declaration of Independence has been written and signed in Philadelphia. There is a pub at a trading post (fictional) in Michigan where traders like to come to have dinner after a long day of trading or travel. People of many different backgrounds are welcome to come eat here and discuss the politics and issues of the day. The server and owner
of the pub Will I Am Erman has one rule. You may eat there if you can discuss your issues in a respectful way. Write a short skit of a dinner table conversation between several acquaintances from different backgrounds in the Revolutionary War. In the skit, they decide whose side they will take and why. Each person must express their point of view. (Time limit: 7 minutes) Due Febrauary 6th. (Written and Rehearse)
H3.5 - I can use and create informational text and visual data to compare American Indians and Settlers in early history of Michigan.
