Jan 30- Feb 3rd
Last week, student discussed, read, and watched videos to help learn how events like the Stamp Act, the Townsend Acts, and the Boston Tea Party led to Colonists revoluting against the British.
This week, groups will be assigned and students will begin writing a skit to show the varying viewpoints of what colonial times were like during the American Revolution.
The Revolutionary War from All Sides
The year is 1776. News is spreading quickly that a Declaration of Independence has been written and signed in Philadelphia. There is a pub at a trading post (fictional) in Michigan where traders like to come to have dinner after a long day of trading or travel. People of many different backgrounds are welcome to come eat here and discuss the politics and issues of the day. The server and owner
of the pub Will I Am Erman has one rule. You may eat there if you can discuss your issues in a respectful way. Write a short skit of a dinner table conversation between several acquaintances from different backgrounds in the Revolutionary War. In the skit, they decide whose side they will take and why. Each person must express their point of view. (Time limit: 7 minutes) Due Febrauary 6th. (Written and Rehearse)
H3.5 - I can use and create informational text and visual data to compare American Indians and Settlers in early history of Michigan.
