MARCH's READING MONTH
We are nearing the end of our historical fiction unit. Students will be expected to write another Reader's Response Letter after completing the next book club book. Students can included these books as a part of our 40 book challenge. Students should be updating thier progress weekly.
For the month of March, and in order to help support our 40 book challenge as well helping foster a love of reading great literature, we are beginning a Newbery Medal Challenge. We will go over all requirements and questions in class beginning Feb 27th. You will see notes come home regarding all specifications, requirements, and progress. I have attached all the paperwork and forms here as well for your reference.

WRITERS WORKSHOP
Students have begun publishing their non-fiction books.
We will continue adding/revising the following areas
Text features, headings, sub-topic paragraphs, a glossary, an index, a table of contents, and a dedication page. We will continue this until all students feel their books are where they would like them to be according to the fourth grade informational rubric.
We will wrap up this unit around the end of 3rd quarter and will begin a study of poetry for the month of April
