Jan 30- Feb 3
Students now have a new weekly assignment to complete Mobymax Language for 30 minutes total every week, outside of school, for language standards practice.
We will be wrapping up our comparing and contrasting of biographies. Your child should be be almost finished (if not finished already) with reading their just right biography with their book club group. Please continue asking your child about what they are reading in and outside of school. You can have them compare and contrast the main ideas, historical events, perspectives, themes, setting, struggles, etc. .
Here are some of the biographies read in class
Martin Luther King Jr.
Abraham Lincoln
Ruby Bridges
2 Fugitive Slaves (William and Ellen Craft)
Sojourner Truth
Vincent Van Gough
George Washington Carver
Henry Ford
Jackie Robinson
This week students will work on writing a Reader's Response Letter for their book club book
We then will move onto reading historical fiction with our book club books. Books will most likely be handed out the week of the 6th.
