How can the geography be used to describe Michigan?
This week we are continuing to explore the following learning targets
Students will begin their salt dough, map of Michigan Project for the week.
Students will be working on reading specialty maps in order correctly to build, label, and paint Michigan's natural characteristics including the Great Lakes, sand dunes, bays, rivers, and mountain ranges located in both the Upper and Lower Peninsulas.

I can understand that there are other ways to describe Michigan's natural characteristics such as vegetation and climate and how they are impacted. (IE, Great Lakes affect weather)
I can understand the difference between natural characteristics of Michigan verses human or man-made characteristics of Michigan (bridges, tunnels, ect)
I can look through and understand how to read special purpose maps to learn about Michigan .
